When talking just isn't working ...

Horse based interventions

We can support children and young people who have become emotionally shut down to reconnect with learning, relationships and life.

Our programmes are delivered by experienced facilitators working alongside specially trained equine learning partners in a safe, supportive farm environment in the Surrey countryside. Parents, carers, schools and professionals are involved wherever appropriate, creating a collaborative approach that helps young people make meaningful and lasting progress.
  • Many of the children and young people referred to Viewpoint Centre have become emotionally shut down. They may be experiencing anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, emotionally based school non-attendance, family crisis or significant life events that have left them feeling overwhelmed and disconnected.

  • Many have struggled to engage with school, counselling, CAMHS or other traditional support. For some, simply leaving the house has become difficult.

  • For many, our specially trained horses are the reason they agree to take that important first step.

  • At Viewpoint Centre we combine evidence-informed equine-assisted learning, family engagement and nature-based experiences to help children, young people and the adults around them rebuild confidence, emotional regulation, communication and readiness to move forward.

  • Our aim is simple: to help every young person reconnect with learning, relationships and life.

Our impact

Why early intervention matters

  • When children become emotionally overwhelmed and disengage from education, the impact extends far beyond the classroom.

  • Families often face increasing stress, isolation and uncertainty. Parents and carers may reduce their working hours or leave employment altogether to support their child and attend appointments. Schools, health professionals and support services work tirelessly, yet many families continue to struggle without finding an approach that truly engages their child.

  • We believe that by intervening early, involving families and working collaboratively with schools and professionals where appropriate, we can help prevent difficulties from escalating further.

  • Every child who successfully re-engages with education, training or appropriate support has the opportunity to build a more positive future for themselves, their family and the wider community.
